Personal budgets and direct payments to support you as a carer
We know that friends or family members who care for their loved ones can sometimes need support themselves.
How to apply
Carers who meet the threshold may be eligible to get a personal budget, which is an amount of money from the council to purchase support.
Following a carer's assessment, carers who do not meet the eligibility threshold but can demonstrate caring has a significant impact on their wellbeing may be eligible for a one off direct payment of up to £250 to support them in their caring role.
