How to access homecare

If you require help at home or to help you get out and about in the community, please complete the online self-assessment form.

Our team will look at what is working well and what is not working as well, work with you to identify whether there is anyone such as a friend, family or neighbour who could help. If there isn’t, we would look at how services in the community can improve your quality of life.

Our team review the online self-assessment form and if they think you are eligible for homecare services, they will refer you to the council for a care and needs assessment.

If you’re eligible for help with homecare, the council will discuss with you how you want to be supported through a personalised care and support plan. This could include help from a paid carer, or a direct payment to help you employ a personal assistant.

If you're not eligible for care, the council will give you free advice about where you can get help in your community. You can also use the Community Directory to find homecare service providers.
