Help with domestic abuse
In an emergency you should always call 999. If you are in danger and unable to talk on the phone, call 999 and then press 55. This will transfer your call to the relevant police force who will help you without having to speak.
Domestic abuse covers a range of types of abuse, including, but not limited to, psychological, physical, sexual, economical or emotional abuse.

Support services for perpetrators of abuse/abusers
Abusive and controlling behaviour is a choice. Only the person using abuse can choose to stop. If they do not want to change, they will continue to be abusive. Factors like addiction, job loss, or childhood experiences may influence someone’s life, but they do not cause abuse. There is no excuse for domestic abuse.
If you are being abusive towards someone you love or have loved, change is possible. Support is available, and taking responsibility is the first step. Click here to find support.
