Award Winning š Bangladeshi Parents and Carers Association (BPCA) is a day centre working with people with multiple disabilities.
Our mission is to promote the wellbeing and independence of adults with multiple disabilities living in East London.
Opal Support Hub is our welcoming centre in Tower Hamlets where we provide culturally appropriate daycare service for people with learning, physical and sensory disabilities.
Our team has expertise in a variety of medical conditions including learning disability, mental health, cerebal palsy, dementia, challenging behaviour, high complex needs, hearing and sight impairment, Down's Syndrome and multiple disabilities.
BPCA is committed to providing a learning, working and social environment in which the rights and dignity of all its members are respected. Activities delivered are tailor made to meet the changing needs of the individual in the most professional manner.
Our social care activities continue to make BPCA a vibrant, meaningful and fun-filled day centre where our users have shown great progression in their personal development.
We have professional tutors delivering:
- art and craft /art therapy
- circus skills
- music
- dance
Users are supported to attend:
- sports
- gym
- swimming
- hydrotherapy
- rebound therapy
and to understand:
- healthy eating and ways to keep fit.
BPCA staff support users to learn life skills such as:
- road safety awareness
- cooking sessions
- shopping training
- religious awareness, etc.
Green Fingers Horticulture has helped users to learn more about plants and growing process, gaining skills to sell plants and generate money and use to reinvest in the project.
We are open from Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm.
A community outreach service is also provided during weekends.
