Carers Rights Day 2025

Carers Rights Day - Thursday 20 November 2025
This year, Carers Rights Day takes place on Thursday 20 November 2025. This is a national awareness campaign that aims to highlight the rights of the 5.8 million unpaid carers across the UK.
It’s a chance to recognise and support those who care for a loved one, friend or family member – often while juggling work. It’s also an opportunity to share information about the support and resources available, so that those that need help, can access it.
Know your rights, use your rights
The theme for this year’s campaign is “Know your rights, use your rights”. This theme emphasises not only understanding carer rights, but also empowering carers to speak up, seek support early, and be active partners in decisions that affect their lives. It highlights the importance of ensuring every carer is heard and has access to clear, timely information.
